Shaun was just finishing up at work when he received a call from Hannah, one of his previous employees. He hesitated, staring at the phone for a few seconds while deciding whether or not he should answer. He had finished his shift over an hour ago and answering Hannah's call would no doubt leave him with more work, something he didn't like the thought of.

Finally he gave in, hitting the answer call button. He had always liked Hannah, feeling an odd mix of emotions when she had handed her notice in a few months before, and if she wanted to chat then he decided he would take the time.

She had never been fantastic at her job but she had always been willing. Above all else she was respectful and easy to get on with. It also didn't hurt that she was good looking.

"Hey Hannah, how are you?" Shaun asked.

"I'm good thanks boss, how about you?"

He couldn't help but chuckle at her response. For some reason whenever Hannah spoke with him after she had left she always called him boss.

"Yeah not bad thanks," he replied. "Just finishing up for the day."

"Working late as always," Hannah said. "It was just a quick one really. I wondered if you were free in about half an hour to meet up for a drink and maybe something to eat?"

He didn't know what to say, the invitation catching him completely off guard. It wasn't that he didn't want to meet with her but he was concerned it could look unprofessional.

"I figured you would still be at work and I'm currently in the area and thought it might be nice to catch up," Hannah continued.

Shaun pushed the uncertainty out of his mind. They no longer worked together and besides, it was only a drink.

"Sure, I'd love to," he answered. "I'll just finish up here then call you when I'm out."

Their phone call came to an end leaving Shaun's heart beating faster than he was used to. He wasn't sure why he felt so excited all of a sudden but he couldn't shake the feeling.

He pushed himself up from his desk and marched straight for the bathroom, intent on fixing himself up before heading out.

Shaun was in his late 20's, tall and well built with short dark hair and shadowy stubble. His green eyes gleaned in the mirror as he fidgeted with his hair, the curve of his strong arms bulging against his shirt.

Work and the gym had become his life. He had transferred to the office almost a year ago, taking on a new role that left him in charge of a large workforce. He didn't know anyone in the city which left him with only his job and the gym to kill time.

Hannah was the only one who he had formed any kind of real friendship with, but now she was gone he had slipped back into his workaholic routine.

Finally satisfied that he looked presentable Shaun left the bathroom, walking through the darkening office building towards the exit.
